What is 6.5 mm jack?

A 6.5mm jack is also known as a quarter-inch jack or TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) jack. It is a type of audio jack that is commonly used in professional audio equipment for both input and output connections. The 6.5mm jack is larger than the more common 3.5mm jack and is widely used in music production, DJ equipment, electric guitars, amplifiers, and studio equipment. The "TRS" designation refers to the three connection points on the jack, the tip (T), ring (R) and sleeve (S). The tip carries the left audio channel, the ring carries the right audio channel and the sleeve is the ground connection. The 6.5mm jack is known for its high-quality connection and durability. It is still highly favored despite the prevalence of smaller jacks like 3.5mm and USB connections.
